  • New and ready!

    Hi,

My name is Leslie, and Im a carbaholic!

Within a course of 2 years, I lost 70 pounds by cutting the calories, watching what I ate and working out. Going on year 3, flaked and gained back 10 to 15 pounds and thought there is nooooway I can go back to where I was, nor was I at my goal weight of 130. Besides, the way I was doing it, seemed to not be working for me anymore. My husband did his own version of no carbs and lost 40 pounds quick! Even cheating here and there not even following a plan nor working out much (of course he is a man!!)

So I decided to make a change, bought the Atkins book this past May (memorial weekend) and started the induction phase. Found this sight doing my own research and have been reading everyone's posts for about a week, so I decided to join for the support.

I lost 12 pounds the first two weeks, but then stalled for a week, got TOTALLY discouraged and binged on 2 slices of thick crust pizza and tiramisu!! Felt horrible, but went straight back to induction this past monday. I haven't stepped on the scale because of what I ate Sunday and I don't want to get upset about it. I am just going to move along and keep going. I have about 55 pounds to lose to reach my goal and I WANT IT BAD!!!

I would really like some questions aswered if you all can...

    1. Does anyone know if the Birth Control pill has any affects? I have been using it for 7 years, so I hear there is sugar in them, but I dont want to stop taking them.

    2. How long does it take to get back in ketosis when I had a slip the other day?

Thank you, and I look forward to chatting with all of you, as well as learn the language!

    Leslie

Don't know about the birth control pills but it usually takes you about 3 days to really be solidly back in ketosis
    JILL

    HW 298
    HW (this time) 248
    GOAL ONE 228
    (take 2)
    GOAL TWO 213 (personal goal)
    GOAL THREE 199 ONE-DERLAND
    FINAL GOAL 165

It's not about the results. Its about the process.
