Hi everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Tynan, and I am a 26 year old stay at home Mom of 2 girls (ages 4 and 6). I am originally from Northern VA, but scooted over the VA line to WV about 5 years ago for the lower cost of living...
I lost about 50 lbs. on the Atkins diet after giving birth to my oldest Daughter, and 5 years later am going at it again. I have no idea what took me so long...I have tried everything BUT Atkins in the meantime, and I just end up hungry and frustrated with cravings. I tried getting back on Atkins one time since having my youngest Daughter, but the side effects of the induction period scared me off since my kids were so little, and I had to have the energy to keep up with them...
I have been on the Induction period of the diet for a solid week (since last Monday) and though the first 4 or 5 days was ROUGH, I stuck with it, and am losing an average of a pound a day. Not sure how long this will keep up, but I am all for it for now!!
I currently weigh 245, and I have goals in 20 lbs increments. I would LOVE to get down to 180, but my ultimate goal is 165. Heck, I will take 225 happily for now as my first goal, since given my height (5 7") and my body type, though I will still have a ways to go, I look much better...
When I got back on the diet, I googled support groups, and this group is one that looked interesting to me. I am looking forward to the support and ideas.
Sorry for the novel, I am just excited...
God Bless.
