  • Hello!

    Hi everyone!

My name is Erika. I am a SAHM to three girls ages 3 (May) and twins who are 18 months. They keep me pretty busy.

Before I was PG I was 140 (I'm 5'9") I lost over a hundred pounds doing weight watchers points. (although not attending meetings) Although I was constantly obsessing over food and often very hungry.

After my first baby I tried Atkins for a about a montha dndid really really well. However I had a horseback riding accident and it kind of killed my efforts and then I found out i was Pg again. fast forward 20 weeks and we found out it was twins. I was dtermined to have a healthy pregnancy and followed some twin dietary research to a T. It was a high protien consumption - but her reccomendations included a 50lbs minimum weight gain irregardless of weight. I was 199 at the times. I carried my twins to term and had a fabulous waterbirth as I had with my first daughter. I lost the twin weight fast and without any effort. I am sure nursing hasn't hurt that effort! But I am still carrying this nagging weight from my first pregnancy.

I began Atkins again last sunday at a weight of 201.6 and lost 6.6lbs the first week and 10.5 inches. iw asvery pleased. I am not hungry and all my craving have dissolved. I LOVE that!

I hope to find some support as I know this is going to be a long journey back again. I've really enjoyed looking through the recipe suggestions. I LOVE to cook. But it's so hard to walk past the girls carb snacks. I find myself almost putting them in my mouth for no reason other than habbit.

    Non-diet things about me

I co-moderate several other forums on breastfeeding and have a lot of experience in that field. If I can be helpful to any nursing moms here I'd be happy to do so!

I love cooking, knitting, crocheting, photography, art, being with my husband and kids, crossword puzzles, quilting, and hockey. I'm an eclectic adventure!

I look forward to supproting others through this journey and learning from others!

    Thanks,

    Erika
