  • here we go

Hi My name is Fonda, I started my induction yesterday, the 2nd of July. My boyfriend is already trying to tempt me to eat bad carbs lol. He loves my cooking and wants me to bake him pies and cakes alot of the time. It is gonna be hard not to eat them.../ but I have to do this for me. I weigh 214 and I want to lose down to at 165, that is where I feel good and I think I look good. So I will need all the support I can get! My kids are grown and I have two grandbabies and one on the way ...whew I am stressed out alot of the time, so I am getting lots of protein snacks to assure I won't be tempted to grab the sugar loaded ones. Well that is all for now I will try and upload some before pics on here soon....maybe when I have lost ten pounds I will load them lol.

        Re: here we go

Hang in there everyone, and I am speaking to me, as well. I started my "Atkins" on 7-2-08, my 62nd birthday and I am keeping a daily journal, to see where I am the weakest at. Also, I am only weighing on Wednesday's, and when I was on this diet last year, I lost 37 pounds, but hit a "plateau" and gradually put back on 30 pounds. I have a total of 100 pounds to lose, to be where I should be to be healthy and feel great about my body and the changes of "old age" as they creep up on me.

Thanks for everyone's "blogs" and I am so glad I joined this group and "re-started" my "Atkins for Life" plan.

I have not gotten through the middle of the book yet but I've decided to go ahead and cut all my carbs since Monday. The first 3 days for me were tough, I had no energy. I just started a new job Monday too, I'm a CNA. So I've been really sore and sometimes I get really hungry (especially at night after I get home from work). But at the same time this job has been helping me keep myself straight because I don't have time to eat all the time at the job. During my break I eat my little portion but mostly I want to rest, my muscles are so sore. Anyway, I'll be 32 yrs old in 3 months, I'm 5'4" and today I am 201 lbs. I started off about 205lbs on Monday. I've been taking 3 big bottles of water to work, which I usually finish all of them by the end of my shift. The only setback with this low carb diet is that I have been constipated all these days since I started the low carb diet on Monday. Is it normal? I eat my veggies and the meat, no fruit, but I've been having this little problem since Monday. Anyway, my goal is 130lbs. I used to be 130lbs when I first got married 7 yrs ago. I was not bony at all. I have lower back problems so I know I need to lose the weight. Also being overweight my feet are ALWAYS hurting. I need all the incentive I can get from this forum. I love to see the before and after pictures, as well as read about everybody's progress. It is really encouraging. Thanks!!

Hey try the little bags of pepperoni they are good and fill you up and right at hand!!!

Hi Fonda, there are many threads on constipation. Flax is good for this, you could also try a stool softener. The allowed veggies should keep things moving though. Looks like this way of eating is working for you
