  • SouthBayDreamer Here :)

    Hi All,

    Just to Introduce myself:

I am Female, 38 years old, 5'3, 204 pounds as of last Saturday.

Six and a half years ago I lost 60 pounds on Atkins in about 4 months. That time, I went from 190 lbs to 130 lbs. I was a size small size 8 (fit into some size 6 too) I kept it off for about 3 1/2 years. Then (after a stormy break up with a man who was very watchful of my weight I might add) I started eating very non-Atkins-friendly foods. It was kind of like "well the relationship ended in disaster, but at least now I can eat a big bowl of pasta without getting yelled at) I probably gained 40-50 pounds the first year, then another 25-35 over the next 2 1/2 years. And here I am. 204 pounds. I can hardly believe it. 4 1/2 weeks ago I went back on Atkins and lost nothing in 4 weeks BUT I didn't do it as "clean" as I did 6 1/2 years ago. This time I didn't give up caffeine, I over-did it on the cheese, I didn't eat multiple smaller meals (just big dinners), and I was hardly drinking any water. SOOOOOOO as of yesterday, I have made some adjustments - No coffee, no cream, no cheese, eat at least 2 times during the day, and drink at least 85 ounces of water per day. I am going to stay on induction for at least another 2 weeks since I didn't lose anything the first four weeks. I hope these adjustments mak a difference. Fingers crossed!

Hey... welcome... and ALl the best on this journey...

PLEASE consider eating more than just two times a day... you body needs to know fuel is available or else it will hold on to what you give it.
I am a terrible one for this very thing. I am not hungry but I make myself eat... I hate eating when I wake up but I am forcing myself and I am convinced that is the reason for my sucess so far. I tend to start my day with a low carb high protien shake and it is what sets the tone for the day.
At least have portable protien like lunchmeat or hard boiled eggs or pork rinds on hand to snack on...

    GL!!!! YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!

Remember nothing tastes as good as thin feels!

Thank you so much! I really appreciate the support. I'm so glad to hear someone say they understand the difficulty with eating throughout the day. Breaksfast is sooooooooo hard for me. Lunch is a little easier, but still not so easy.

Thank you again for your kind words and encouragement

          Re: SouthBayDreamer Here

Hello and welcome! Nice to have you join us here. Kudos to you for getting back on the wagon... and more kudos for making the commitment to do it "by the book".

I agree with Kathy... you need to eat more than two meals a day. You should be eating every six hours (apart from when you sleep!). If you're not hungry after six hours, just have a small snack... something to keep your metabolism revved. If you are hungry, then eat to satisfy that hunger, no more, no less.

If you follow the plan to a "T" (as per the DANDR 2002 edition) you'll see results. Guaranteed.

          Happy losing!
