  • Every day is looking a bit brighter!

I am in my 8th day of Induction and feeling great! The first 3 were pretty hard including headaches, fatigue, flu symptoms. I have found the board to be very helpful and supportive in making it through the first week. I probably would have quit on the 3rd day if I hadn't have been informed on what to expect. I am finding that the sugar and caffeine cravings are gone. The cravings for the Michelob Ultra at night are gone. My appetite has really changed. I am rarely hungry and have to make myself eat. I have found some great recipes on this site and can't wait to try them.

I know that I do not have as much to loose as some of the others but, at 43 have found it impossible to diet. I have to see results in order to stick with it. Nothing I tried gave me any results and found it difficult to stay with it. I understand now that it was the addiction to caffeine and sugars that were hindering my weight loss. I am a believer and encourage anyone to try it. If you are struggling through the first few days stick with it! You will see results. It is worth it.

Thanks so much for the positive words. You all are great! Just finished 45 minutes cardio. It is easier to stay motivated when you are seeing the results.
          Have a great night.

Re: Every day is looking a bit brighter!

Hello Everyone. Today is my 14th day. Still no Diet Soda, Caffine Coffee, candy bar and Micholob Ultra! Not one trips through the drive thru for French fries. Those were my worst habits. I guess I have something to be proud of. I am down 10 1bs. I do believe that I lost that all in the first week. I am sure alot of that was water weight. I have not lost anything the second week. Is this normal? I made revoluntary rolls this week. I am wondering if that might have effected my weight loss. Any opinions? My menu yesterday was 1 egg and 1 piece of ham, cup of decaf with splenda half & half, Atkins protein shake, handful of almonds, two small homemade pizzas on revoluntary rolls. I used a tsp. of marinara on each, low cal cheese, red peppers, onions, ham, olives. (Yummy!) Lots of Water and I herbal tea before bed.

Re: Every day is looking a bit brighter!

Congrats on the weight loss so far. You have very little to lose so you can expect the rest to come off slowly unfortunately. The book says you can expect a 5-10% loss during induction and you have already lost 50%. As far as keeping it off goes though, the slower you lose the better. I actually just wrote a thread about weighing that might be helpful to you:

                Good luck!

Re: Every day is looking a bit brighter!

Thank you for your reply. I read your thread and you are so right! It is nice to have that reminder. I am going to stay with it and keep up with my cardio. I have felt a little weak so I haven't incorporated the weight training yet.

                  Wishing you much success!
