  • 1st week on Induction

    Hi Community!!
I have been on induction for a week and I love it.
I did not do it right the first 3 days ( had shakes and too many net carbs) but corrected it and entered Ketosis on day 5. Since then slowly losing and very happy.

I just want to lose another 5/6lb but I also want to kick the sugar addiction. I realized i was totally addicted to sugar, then tried to replace it with diet products ( aspartame - yikes!) which made it worse. So i was eating low fat, lots of aspartame and felt terrible!

So i want to lose these few pounds and re-balance my diet for life.
I have been a little tired, altough a lot less than in the beginning. And
i am loving everything i eat!! Could not have done it without the community it is very helpful, thanks to all!

Great job and good luck with the sugar cravings. I have 100 pounds to lose and re-started my "Atkins for Life" plan on my birthday, July 2 (celebrating my 62nd year) and I am doing great on the diet, as well, too.

So, remember what you ate to get you were you were before the "Atkins" and this will help you stay away from those tempting sweets.

Have a great 4th and "God bless".

      Re: 1st week on Induction

Today, is my 2nd day on the "Induction" diet, and I am doing great, so far. I am looking forward to the health benefits of this wonderful "diet".

When I was on the diet last year, I lost 37 pounds, but hit a "plateau" and became discouraged and gradually started putting 30 of those pounds back on.

One of the greatest health benefits I noticed immediately, when I lost the 37 pounds, was that I DIDN'T have "indigestion" anymore. I was taking a medication from my doctor for "reflux", and eating the tablets like candy.

Also, my husband said he noticed that I quit "snorring" and he could actually sleep all night long, without the distrubbing sounds of my sleeping habits. He was thrilled and started getting more rest from my benefits of the diet.

So, here I am again, back at the "Induction" and this time I am going to stay with it for the whole 100 pounds.

I hope this little blog is "up-lifting" and "encouraging" to you, and you will I am sure, an encourager to us all, as we reach "plataeu's" and "stumbling blocks".

God bless you and I am praying for your continued "good health with Atkins".

      Sincerely, marysltlamb

          Re: 1st week on Induction

Hello and welcome Amaranda! Congrats on your good start.
Kudos to you for tweaking your initial diet so as to bring it into line with the programme.

As you haven't much to lose, you need to move to OWL (ongoing weight loss) as soon as you've finished induction. You need a little time to find out how various foods affect you, and you need to find your CCLL/M (critical carb level for losing/maintaining). Ideally OWL should be done with at least 10 lbs to lose.

          Happy Atkineering!
