    Hi, I've joined this forum with the hopes to see the great experiences from everybody else as well as to get some encouragement to keep on. I'm 32 yrs old, 5'4" and currently 199lbs. I am starting the Atkins book so I cannot say yet that I am on Atkins diet yet. Tomorrow will be one week that I cut all my carbs, and I started off last Monday on 205lbs. So I've lost 6 lbs in one week and I am really happy. I am no longer craving chocolate and other sweets and bread (for now). The first two days it was kinda hard to go without them, but now I'm ok. I'm going to chapter 2 of the Atkins book and I'm eager to get to the Induction phase chapter where I'll be able to officially start the Atkins plan! Thanks for reading this post and for all the encouragement!

    Hi, I think that you are doing the right thing by reading the book in order to do Atkins properly. You have done well so far so keep up the good work. This is my second time around and I know that when you stick to the Atkins principals, you do lose!

      I highly suggest that you skip ahead to the induction chapter. Atkins is soooo not about cutting all the carbs out of your diet. You are not going to get a true response when you do your induction because of what you are doing now. Welcome, good luck and congrats on the 6 pounds gone.
