  • Trying it Again - Desperate to Lose!

Hi everyone - I'm going to try to start Atkins again tomorrow after having success with it (combined with a great workout routine) a few years back. I've gained about 20lbs in the last year and a half due to stress at home, and have had the hardest time getting motivated to get in shape again! I've also had luck with Weight Watchers, but am looking to jumpstart my weightloss with Atkins. I'm 34, have two kids ages 10 and 6, and am currentlly 145 - my highest weight ever. My average is 125/130. Any inspiration will help - Thanks!

How tall are you? Are you planning to stick to this Way Of Eating, I only ask because of the 'jump start' comment.
Glad to have you here, good luck in your journey.
Try to get 80-100 ounces a day!

Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you're right.

I am 5 5'. I guess jumpstarting was the wrong word - I know how to eat right, but I think this change of dieting will help me get on track right now!

Hi Mommy5168. Welcome! Am I reading this correctly, you want to use Atkins to lose 20 pounds before you go back to eating "correctly"? Sad fact is, like any other diet, you go off it and you'll balloon again I'm not sure what about Atkins you think is eating incorrectly or on which way of eating you gained 20 pounds?

290 lbs. on 11/02/07 Goal: 145 lbs. or size 14 whichever comes first!

Hi, seems we are in the same dilemma. I'm also a mommy of 35 with two children, aged 12 and 8, and I am desperate to lose weight. I've had success with Weigh Less, but as you, need to kickstart pretty fast, as my poor body has been tortured with all the diets already. I have done all the reading for the Atkins, and must admit, it makes sense. Good luck for the week, and let me know how it went!!

Hi there, it's been a tough week. Had a terrible weekend, but I seem to be back on track again. Good luck and hold in there. It's 5 months until December, and I sort of see that as a goal. Here it's very hot in December and I want to look good in summer clothing. Until later

I hope you plan on doing Atkins for life! It really is the healthiest way to go, and really shouldn't be used as a "jump start." Any diet can help you lose weight, but Atkins helps you do it in a healthy way.

                  Best of luck!
