  • Wish me luck...

Hi..I am Lori. I am 5'10" and I weigh 235lbs. I am down from 245. I have lost 10 lbs by exercising and reducing my calories. I have been disappointed with how long it has been taking to get results. I read about Atkins and it seemed to make sense to me so today I began the induction phase. I would like to get down to 170, so 65lbs to go!! I am an elementary school teacher in Oklahoma, married for 22 years, mom to a 16 year old boy and a 15 year old girl.

    Re: Wish me luck...

hello, allyscharm. welcome to this woe. i was wondering if you've read the book yet? (Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution) DANDR 2002 Edition. it is a must read in order to succeed in living this new lifestyle correctly. if you haven't read it yet, i would suggest atleast reading all the sticky's in the induction forum on this board. so many people decide to do atkins without having a grasp for the correct way in following this woe, and then get discouraged and give up without truly understanding how it actually works.

remember to drink your water(8-8ozs + another 8 for every 25 lbs you need to lose), exercise and follow the plan correctly and you will do great.

i wish you much success on your journey to a healthier lifestyle.

Hi Lori! Buy the book. And read the stickies. Knowledge is power to this way of eating.

Thanks for the advice..yes, I am reading the book. One of the girls I work out with loaned me a copy and I am going to order my own soon. I was up very late last night reading it.

I drank a lot of water today. I had no appetite for food however, it was a struggle to eat. I know my appetite will improve. I have a terrible sunburn from the 4th so I haven't felt myself.

        Thanks for the well wishes.

LOL...actually appetite surpression is one of the side benefits...after you get over induction flu. Make sure the book was published in 2002. That is the one published here.
