  • Hello....

    My name is Nichola and I am going to change my life. I am not sure what I have been waiting for and do plan on figuring that out. I am not going to look at this as a diet but as a lifestyle change.

    I think one of the reasons I always fail at weight loss is that i think I am going with out and I can have it all back when I reach my goal. (rarely happens) I walk around thinking poor me no more chocolate, no more fat foods have to give everything up. Not really thinking that was the reason I am in this spot. What will I really be giving up? That is the question. Is not my health and mental state mean more than a chocolate bar?

    I better stop or have nothing to write in my journal.

    This is the first time I have tried Atkins and after reading the book, I thought it seemed to good to be true but your pictures and the encouragement you all give others is proof to me that this can work. I think support is key.

    Look forward to getting to know the different people here.

    Welcome Nichola, it is easy and very much true. The 1st 3 days are the hardest, after that it is so much easier. Stay focused and be true to yourself. God Bless, Joe

        Hello...welcome to the board...Atkins is something else people never understand me when I tell them the fat melts off you like butter...I sleep so soundly knowing that my body is still burning away fat as I sleep and one of the first things I do in the morning before I get out of bed is touch my stomach to see if if feels flatter...lol

            yes! the "once i get to goal i can have everything back" has gotten me everytime!

            I need to realize that butter/eggs/sugar/flour/chocolate/chocolatechips/milk all mixed together (aka: a brownie), is something that was never intended to be consumed by humans! A brownie isn't a natural part of how we should be eating! So Not only should I not have it while losing weight, but I can't have it once I've met goal either. This time around that doesn't bother me near as much, which is why I think I'm the most successful this time around than any other.

            I hope you're successful the first time around, welcome to the board.
