  • Hungry for success

I have always loved the Atkins program, and have had great success being able to loose 10 - 20 lbs whenever I needed. However, within the last year and a half, I have quit smoking and am starting menopause. What has happened to my body? I need to loose 60 lbs and quick. My 50th is in a few months and I am celebrating with a tropical vacation. I need help as I can't seem to take any weight off. Started induction today - hope you all can help me see what I'm doing wrong. I found this site by accident; glad I did because I need to be Fitfor50.

Hey! I am also working to be fit by 50!

...if it takes all day ... well actually my goal is in a few months also. It is definitely one day at a time and you will see results that will keep you going. This way of eating (WOE) will satisfy your hunger by the way.

Congrats on quiting smoking - I understand that is a bear.

Good luck and welcome to the ADBB.

Welcome and congrats for quitting smoking. I am coming up on my 1 year anniversary of quitting so I know what an accomplishment it is. Its great that you have a goal to work towards but keep in mind that Atkins isn't a quick fix, its a lifestyle change (you will hear that over and over here.) Its a big commitment but so worth it in the long run. The best thing you can do for yourself right now is read the book (2002 version) from cover to cover and really try to commit to doing a clean induction. If you need help or support, just ask! Good luck!
