New to the Atkins Diet

    Hello everone,

    I started the Atkins on Monday and boy has it been tough.....day four and counting.

    I found that the most difficult part for me so far has been snacks, I am open for suggestions from anyone.

    Also, any coffee drinkers???? How do you handle switching to decaf? I hate it, I can taste the difference and I am not a splenda person either. But I am trying to get the hang of it.

    My 30th birthday is Sept. 16, and I want to loose 15pounds I can do, I know I can.

    I drink 2 pots + daily. No decaf, just the real stuff. Black, no sweetener or nothing. I needs me coffee at 4 AM in the morn. God Bless,Joe

      15 pounds by mid-september sounds like a very good/realistic goal, although that does depend on your stats, what are you currently?

      I don't use splenda, started using it a little yesterday for this muffin-in-a-minute recipe I tried, and I guess sugar-free rockstar has sucralose in it (which is splenda).

      There are some people who choose not to cut out caffeine. Dr. Atkins said the reasoning behind cutting it out is because caffeine makes you have cravings. However, I have high willpower, and drinking coffee/rockstar doesn't make me want to cheat, so I drink it. I have about two cups of coffee a day with a tiny bit of heavy cream. and usually at least 1 rockstar a day.

      However, some people have said that it not only causes cravings, but causes stalls?

      Interesting to me, considering the main ingredient pretty much all diet pills that suppress appetite is caffeine..so who knows!~ guess it changes your blood sugar.

        29yrs of age

        SW/189, CW/186, GW 149

        Need to loose 15 pounds by my birthday(Sept. having a big b-day bash and I already have my dress)LOL
