Yup, I'm a grandmother and have discovered that if I don't get fit I will not be able to keep up with the grandkids. So here I am, seeking your encouragement, because this is important to ME! And I'll give it out too if you need it.
Ihave about 70 pounds to lose, and I know it will take awhile, so I'm just wondering what I'm going to do when I get tired of eggs!
I also have Parkinsons so the stiffness makes it dificult to exercise, but I'm going to work on that too.
Thank you in advance forthis site and for your help.

Hi Ladywyngs, welcome to the board. You sound like your ready to get serious. That's fantastic, you will do well. Tired of eggs, check out the recipe section in the back of the book "Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution 2002". There is about a dozen breakfast recipes in the book. Then this board has a recipe section, and much, much more. Once you get back in great shape, take it easy on the grandkids

            Re: Grandmother Newbie

welcome, and i wish you much success. linda's site is great, there is a recipe for a mock danish that is great for breakfast. there is no need to get tired of eggs, you don't have to fix them everyday. if you feel like you need eggs as part of your diet, use them in recipes, you don't have to eat them straight up. make some hard boiled eggs and put them in tuna salad or on a regular salad. use them as a binder in a meatloaf. they are a well balanced food as far as fat/carb/protein goes, but there is nothing that says you have to eat eggs everyday for breakfast. the mock danish uses egg, but with the cream cheese to balance the dish out, you really can't taste the egg. i make them with pumpkin added sometimes too as a bedtime snack, it reminds me of a pancake that way.

have fun on your journey, take advantage of linda's site, there is alot of recipes there to keep you from getting bored.

Welcome to the best thing you can do for yourself!

I'm a Granma too, and I know how quick those little ones can be. I also know that lifting a 24 pound two year old, is a whole lot easier when you've dropped that amount in weight already. I think about that every time I lift her....that is the amount I've taken off since April.

I really recommend the link Ozlover provided to Linda's Low Carb Recipes. Not only does she put a * next to Induction friendly recipes, she gives each recipe a rating of her own. There are pictures too!

I don't like eggs, but I usually make sure I have leftover's from dinner, re-heat that, and tah da...breakfast!

There's a lot of support and some very knowledgeable people here. Give a shout out if ya have a question.
