    Hello all. My name is Troy....and I am a carb addict!!! <Hello, Troy.>
    I am 28 years old and am at about 340 lbs at 5'8". I have just completed reading Dr. Atkins' 2002 Edition and I am ready to get this started...I just completed my last and final carb blowout and am ready to embark on the new me starting first thing manana. I am a phlebotomist by trade and have no co-morbidities at this time...thank goodness....with the exception of a bum knee and killer stretchmarks. :anger I have vowed to commit no less than 14 days to this and to follow it by the letter. I have stocked my fridge with the relevent foods with the exception of lettuce which i will remedy tomorrow. I have consulted with my personal, virtual self physician and he and I have agreed that I am too fat and need to do this. I have weighed the risks and have found that Adkins is preferable to certain death. That being said: it is good to be aboard!!! :joy

    Hi troy :wave Welcome to ha Sounds like you are very ready!!!
    I'm so happy you found us. Come on over to the Century Club and introduce yourself. We are a happy bunch of 'Losers' over there. (And we could use some more Men). I wish you all the best. Bet you'll be spouting losses in no time. All you men seem to melt the pounds off just by stating how much you want to lose. The women on the other hand have to promise 'Whooshy' (she's our fatfairy that whooshes away our fat while we sleep) our first born just to get her to take away 1 lb.

        Welcome Troy. I'm so glad you've read the book and are ready to follow it faithfully. You will be a success. With determination, supplements, exercise and eating properly, you are in for the greatest joy of seeing inches and pounds melt before your eyes.

        I've been doing this WOE for almost a year. It has been the best thing I've ever done for myself. I have so much energy and a new appreciation for living.

        There are so many motivated people here on this board that are willing to share their successes. Make sure you check out the loser's lounge in the main Atkins forum and the before/after photos. They will keep you inspired. Best Wishes!!!

          :wave welcome to ADBB from a former 300+ pounder. while you are over in the century club join the TDL exercise challenge bum knees abound in there so that isn't an exceptable excuse for skipping the mandatory exercise part of your Atkins not that you would even think about ditching the mandatory exercise part of the book.

          Glad you read the book.

          Oh and stay off the scales and get ready for some nasty carb withdrawals with actual physical symptoms too. hold tight and in 4 days you will be amazed azt your appetite control and your energy levels.'
