  • Trying this out the right way

    HI

    I have officially decided to start Atkins as of tomorrow. Today my fiance and i went to the store, bought all our groceries and i just finished prepping all the food for the week.

    I'm really excited to be doing this for real finally, rather than doing it half you know what!! i finished reading the book today and i'm pretty jazzed!

      Reading the book is a fantastic start!! Keep your book handy for referral & of course use the knowledge here on ADBB. Post often, ask questions, start a journal & join a challenge or two!!

        Congratulations on your plans to do this RIGHT! Whenever you're tempted to stray from the book, remember that Dr A has good reason for every one of his recommendations. I often had to (have to) remind myself that these are the rules I'm signing up for, like 'em or lump 'em. If I have a better way, I should go write my own book!

          first day almost done and i feel quite good. a bit tired but i'm assuming that is from the lack of carbs which i know will get better after a few days.
          have had zero cravings and my guy is making me steak for dinner.. YUM.

              I was exhausted for the first couple of days as well. I woke up on the third or fourth day before my alarm clock went off raring to go. So, get ready, it's coming.

              First mini-goal: 180 lbs. met 8/9/2008
              Second mini-goal: 170 lbs. met 11/8/2008
              Third mini goal: 160 lbs. (which was my postpartum weight with my second baby)
              Fourth mini goal: 150 lbs.

                A Warm Welcome! and way to plan!!!! will help make bumps easier, are you both doing Atkins? either way it's great to have the support!
                try to follow DR A's council and start moving also..Slooooooow but steady movement will enhance your induction! please continue to post your journey, your questions, stats, anything at all!

                  i'm pretty active as is.... working out isn't my issue food is.
                  i also notice that when i eat clean, i am more motivated to workout!
                  my fiance is also doing atkins, it's our version of the wedding diet except it's for life rather than just the next year
