  • Hey Yall I'm Bonnie Rose

Hi! My name is Bonnie Rose. I am 24 and live in Washington State. I started Induction today and was going to just be posting on another website I track my food on, but they don't support Atkins and the only "Team" that does hasn't posted in almost a year. So I found you all!!!

I weigh 230 lbs and am only 4'11". I am going crazy trying to get the weight off and nothing else has worked so here I am!!!

I have out of wack cholesterol (bad chol is fine but I don't have enough good chol) and I have had some showing of insulin resistance on my last physical. I have an appointment with an Endochronoligist on Jul 28th, and that will be right after induction, so I am hoping for some great weight loss in the next 2 weeks!!!

I'm going to find a place to post my journal now... Look forward to meeting all of you!!!!

Welcome, Bonnie. Glad to hear you have a plan for tracking your food. Have you read Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution? It's highly recommended reading around here...

This is a great WOE for your weight and your overall health -- glad to hear you are jumping to address those health issues before they become a bigger problem.

As someone who had a lot of weight to lose myself, I'll tell you that Atkins worked for me when NO other eating plan EVER has. There's hope -- and solutions -- here. Not to mention lots of great, supportive folks.

      Best of luck to you!

Re: Hey Yall I'm Bonnie Rose

Thanks for the support! My mom just had Bariatric surgery on Friday. I honestly thought that was my last option as well and have been strongly considering the Lap Band. A lot of people try to put it off as the "easy way out" but let me tell you in the last few months preparing for surgery has not been "easy" at all for my mom and now she is doing good, because she is still in recovery but she has to eat well even more so than people who are dieting. If she messes up it could cause serious health problems and even death. Anyhow, my insurance doesn't cover it and I was looking for a solution. I saw Dr. Atkins new diet revolution on my mom's bookshelf and grabbed it. Decided I'd start today after a weekend of kinda going overboard (out to eat 2 nights to Dick's Drive-In one day and icecream!!!) So here I am raring to go. I am excited to see my results in the next 2 weeks. I suspect my CCLL will be very low, but I'll live.

Congrats on reading the book. Also please do yourself a favor and take your measurements. You will be glad you did. One great side effect of Atkins is a decrease in appetite. Once you experience it you'll be glad you did it naturally and without the lab band.

That's great, Bonnie -- do double-check and make sure it's the 2002 edition. I agree with Vanessa. Take your measurements to help monitor your progress, and enjoy the appetite surpression when it comes! Honestly, as someone who has been overweight pretty much my whole life, I've never felt anything like... it's pretty amazing to not be thinking about/wanting/EATING food all the time.

            Again, good luck!

Re: Hey Yall I'm Bonnie Rose

If there are three dates in the Copyright of the book, the last date listed is 2002... Does that mean it's the right one?!?!

Yup, that's it. In the title, "NEW" is in sort of crooked, like it's stamped on, right?

How was your first full day of induction? Here's to a great day two!
