  • I Did This Once Before

    Hello fellow ADitians! How is everyone? I am Nejla. I did the AD before and it really worked for me (I lost about 30 pounds). I wasn't doing it by myself before but this time I am, so I thought I might need the support. I have since regained the weight due to a failed pregnancy and eating way too much junk food. Anyhow, I had to clean out my whole closet and realized that I can't be this heavy anymore. I had to put my good clothes on the side until I loose the weight. It was a very sad event so....here I am.

    Hi Nejla, welcome to ADBB. Read the book or at least our Induction stickies and do your best to have a good clean Induction and you will be off to a great start. The first couple days are rough as your body adjusts again, but we are all here for you and soon you will feel better than you have in months.

      Welcome to the ADBB! You've been through some tough times and now you are taking positive steps to move ahead which is admirable. Jill and others have great advice here based on a lot of experience. Please keep us updated on your progress.

          Welcome And Here You Will Have All The Support You Need So Welcome And Congrads On Coming Back You Already Know What To Do Just Get Yourself Back In That Frame Of Mind And You Will Be Fine You Can Do It And Will Do It.anytime You Feel Like Cheating Take A Look At The Clothes You Put To The Side Lol.

              Good for you! I started Akins 5 years ago after a pregnancy loss and eating my way through that sad time.

              I now have 2 beautiful children and am healthy, doing my best to give my family the best wife and mom I can give them.

              Stick with it, you are in great company!

                  THANK YOU SHELLIE ....I am glad someone knows what I am going trough....Thank you everyone else as well. I am measuring myself every day though. I guess I shouldn't be doing that ....so I don't get frustrated by a number on a scale. I think I need to purchase the new book so I can do a cleaner induction...because I can't remember how much fat I need to eat. I do know that any protein is allowed (without carbs)! Am I correct?

                    If you chart your food on Fitday.com it will keep track for you. You want about 30% protein, 5% carbs, and 65% fat on induction.

                        Hello everyone......ok so i took a look at fitday.com....and I am happy to report since my start date of 7/14/08...I AM DOWN BY 8 POUNDS. I AM back to my "I AM HOOKED ON LOOSING" stage that I experienced the first time I did ADKINS. WOHOOOOO.....GO ME! Every time I want to eat carbs I just think of having to report to you guys...and then I just say...NOOO CARBS FOR ME THANK YOU!!! ANYHOW I JUST WANTED TO TELL EVERYONE...YOU GUYS ROCK

                            Thank you for the kind words. I am excited. I was just tired of not being able to see my legs unless i leaned forward...if you know what I mean. Anyhow I am so happy for you for your 60 pound weight loss. My goal is to be around 125 pounds but i am not sure I can go that low since that was my weight in the 10th grade. However WHERE THERE IS A WILL THERE IS A WAY RIGHT??????? That's my (old) new motto!!! Have a great week everyone!!!!!
