  • Hello everyone!!

Hi, my name is Brandi and I am a 29 yr old mother of two and I started induction one week ago today on July 8th. At this point I am over the headaches (if not a little testy at times) but have absolutely NO ENERGY! My boyfriend says i'm like talking to a rock lately(Haha!) He is so supportive though and tells me about 10 times a day how proud of me he is for sticking with this and having a goal. It really helps hearing him say that and I think of that everytime I want to sneak a bite from the kids plates. I have had it in my head that I would start Atkins for the last 12 months but made the commitment when my kids started coming up behind me and started jiggling my butt and laughing saying it was good luck for them to do that. What made it worse was my ten year old son, thinking he was making me feel better, said "It's ok mom, just because you look fat doesn't mean you are fat!" I have gained 40 lbs since January '07 and 15 of those lbs have gone on since Feb of this year. I am only 5'3 so every pound shows. Enough is enough. I'm living in sweatpants. Time to get this baggage off!!!

Thanks everyone for reading my short story, I will give your eyes a break for now.
    Brandi.

    Re: Hello everyone!!

Hi Brandi and welcome to the board. Your story describes most here. We are all tired of being fat. Congrats for making the decision to change your way of life and way of eating. By looking around at the pics and stories you can see Atkins works. If you stick to Dr. Atkins plan, you will succeed at your goal. You can do it!

      Hi Brandi!

Welcome and congrats! Have you experienced any weightloss this week? Make sure to take measurements... sometimes they are a better indicator than the scale.

      Best of Success!

        Re: Hello everyone!!

Thanks so much. I actually have lost some weight this past week. The scale can't decide between 4 and 6 pounds so I will just go with 4 so I don't get disappointed if it doesn't move very much in the next week. I've gone through some of the before and after pics that are posted and am amazed! This bulletin board is exactly what I need to stay motivated.
