I have MS and have restricted walking now. That means exercise is a problem. And I have a lower back fused in 3 places - so now sit-ups and so on are out. Over the past few years I have put on a bunch of weight. Last week the doctor told me it looks like I am slipping into Type 2 Diabetes. Am NOT having with that !!Have had nutrition classes in the past as well as Vegan but these have not helped in weight control. I am the type of person who needs a set plan to follow. So with the scare of Type 2 looking at me I started doing the reading. Atkins seems to fit me ;; weight loss but not meat deprivation. And I love veggies.
I am a 67 Senior male who lives alone and do all my own cooking. Healthy weight for my 5'7" is 155# but I will take anything in that area. CW is 238 (gasp!). I started Induction on Jul 16. First goal is 225. I have the older version of the book and read it twice this week. Ordered the new version and the DVD.
I am already sick of just meat and eggs. I like to cook. So now I am reading everything I can to find recipes that will add a little variety and fun to this. Simple ones. I can't get to the store often so I can't get elaborate.
