Hello, all!
I'm new to Atkins...though not new to dieting attempts. I wasn't quite a "yo-yo" dieter (my attempts usually lasted about a year). However, very little seemed to work. I've been overweight ever since I was a young child. My family is on the larger side as well, but my size is not something I've ever been able to accept as just a fact of life. I was so frustrated back then that I became bulimic for my first year-and-a-half in college, dropping 60 pounds but putting myself in the hospital in the process. I recovered, and even though I put the weight back on, I'm much happier with myself and in a better place emotionally. Heh, ready to take care of my body the "right" way, y'know?
Two years ago, my aunt started Atkins. I came to visit after she'd been on it for 6 months, and wow! She looked great--much healthier and happier than I had last seen her.
I figure I'll give things a shot myself. It's been a little tough getting started these two weeks (especially with my roommate keeping things I shouldn't eat everywhere around the kitchen). However, I'm almost 10 lbs. down now, and it gets easier to stick with each day.
I went to this site looking for recipes (I've been craving dessert like crazy this week...
), and I thought it couldn't hurt to get some insight from folks who are a little more experienced with the program.
Nice to meet you all, and have a nice day!
