    My name is Teresa and I turned 48 in May.
    I have spent countless dollars and tried so many diets- pills, hoodia, shakes, -only to lose 10, gain 15...weight watchers I actually gained after the first weeks, slim fast made me so hungry I could drink the shake and eat the can, too! I tried logging every bite-spent more time with my nose in a book looking up calories than I did eating them!!
    I once lost weight using a meal replacement drink mix like herballife-but I want to be able to eat real foods-not drinks. And the COST was prohibitive.

    I only need to lose about 20 pounds-but it will be more if I don't get a handle on it NOW.

    I had a friend who did atkins a few years ago and lost 35 pounds-she succumbed to sugar free snacks (think chocolate) and fell off the wagon.
    I had a cousin who did Atkins religiously-lost 50 pounds or more- and STILL looks fabulous. It's been 4 years!!!
    I want to be like HER too!!

    Hi Teresa,
    If you look in the main forum there is a weekly buddy thread. I am with you on the Weight Watchers stuff. I do not want to spend myu entire day thinking about how many points I have left and what I can still eat. Atkins makes it so easy. And there are some terrific recipes on our board, on Lynda's lo carb site, and floating out there in web land.I am same age as you so I will caution you that it may not be an overnight fix (at least it isn't for me) but you will feel great, and you will lose if you stay true.
