  • Hey all!!!

So I guess this is the Atkins introduce yourself section LOL... I gained alot of weight when I became pregnant with my now 2 year old son. I topped out at 208 lbs! I totally thought that there just had to be something wrong with me because usually when I worked out I would loose the weight right away and tone up. But to no avail I did not loose anything I ended up gaining. I went to the doctors and there was nothing medically wrong with me
Alas, my fiancee's mother and father had started to do the Atkins diet and it came very highly recommended. I started it a few months back and I was just astonished at 2 weeks I had lost about 12 pounds!!! I was just way to happy ! I finally weighed myself about a month ago and I was at 173.00 but after stopping the diet and falling back into my bad eating habits I had gained 5 pounds back and I am now currently at 178.00 Well at lest that was the last time I weighed myself... I started the diet again last week and I'm always looking for a push into the right direction. I'm a young mother who still loves life and I want to be around for when my son is older and I don't want to be embarassed about going out and what not after I was able to be 150 and still were cute clothes and catch the eyes of the occasional hottie. LOL... So I guess wish me luck I've gone through alot and I'm always looking to lend support also...

Good luck. Sounds like you know what to do. At least you know that is works. You'll probably need plenty of energy to keep up with your little one as well.

      Re: Hey all!!!

Keep in mind that the pictures taken with your young son will be around forever. You can't ever rewind and do the pictures over. I was never overweight when my kids were young, but I only have one grandchild, and for the first 12 years of his life, the smallest I ever was was 250 pounds. I so regret that in all the pictures of the two of us together, I was hugely fat.

Take my advice and stick with it so you can be healthy and slim and around to enjoy your precious child and will be able to look back on pictures with pride.

          Re: Hey all!!!

          Welcome!

Thank you for sharing a bit about yourself. It's great that you're back on Atkins, it truly does work and the great part is you've experienced it's success before. I too was on it in the past (short period of time) and lost 23 pounds in one month...sadly I dropped off of it and only now....years after the fact I'm back on it again and have even begun feeling the difference in only a short period of time. Don't stress over the 5 lbs (I know, sometimes easier said then done)...just think, you're well on your way to losing it!
