  • Hi new here too

    Hello everyone

My name is Melissa. I"m 37 a SAHM in central NY.
I've been overweight my entire life. I don't ever recall being thin and now I"m at my all time high weight.
I've been working out since January and although I feel great working out, I've not lost more than about 10lbs
I've lurked on this board for a couple years. I just could never make myself finally do it. I"m a total carb and sweet addict and the thought of giving those things up practically hurt!
I recently got home from a visit back home to see my family and friends. After viewing all the pics of me I wanted to cry. So, I finally said that I need to love myself more than the food. So, here I am
I"ve been on induction since monday and I"ve already lost 5lbs. It's been hard and I feel like I've been ran over by a mac truck, but I"m going to do this!!!
I'd love to talk to anyone who wants to be a support to each other. Or anyone who's reached their goals and wants to motivational lol

Thanks so much. I look forward to meeting everyone

    Melissa

    Melissa,
Hi and Welcome! Your story sound similar to my own. I recently saw some photos of myself at a family gathering and it was disheartening. Oh well, we are doing something about it now and that's good. I'm also a SAHM but I reside in NC. Hope to hear from you and maybe we can encourage each other as we go along. I'm on day 11 of induction. I had the induction flu but once you get past that you really start to feel good so hang in there!

Welcome Melissa! It sometimes takes that "eye-opener" for us to take the step. Kudos to you for seeing that it is time. Grats on the loss already. You will get past the icky feelings of the induction flu and feel better than you have in a long time...just ride it out and stick to the plan!

                hi Melly,
sugar free jello and some coolwhip will get you through your sweet urges, and is very filling. I have been on atkins before and lost weight, just got bored. Am very motivated this time. Have been on diet one week tomorrow, and so far, I have lost 6 lbs. I feel great, especially after the first 3 days, not very hungry now. Trying to think of food as a fuel for the body only.....ha

                  Melly,
I just joined the board today and started the diet July 16th. I am a SAHM in Texas and understand how hard it can be with kids eating sugary foods and carbs. I know we can do this if we stick together!
                  Good Luck.
