btw..3 weeks ago i went to check and see if I had diabetes and I do not..so the glucophage is more for my insulin resistance and keeping diabetes at bay..but with this weight my knees hurt, i am too short for all this weight.

Linda's Low Carb Recipes - anything with an * is induction friendly (just watch your limits on cheese and cream, and remember that 4 servings is 4 servings!)

Never Ending Induction Recipes - ADBB's very own thread on Induction friendly options. If you find something you especially like on Linda's site, be sure to add it here for the rest of us!

        Hi Denise

I am new to this but I think that not eating the veg or salad greens defeats the purpose of Atkins considering 15gr of your daily carbs should come from this. It will stop you getting tired and run down and give you the strenght to keep pushing on!

Atkins isnt a quick fix its a way of life and you need the vitimins that your veggies give you....

I ate brocoli for the first time last night, I was dreading it... I had three small florettes with a beef burger. I closed my eyes putting the first bite in my mouth but to my complete surprise it wasnt that bad, in fact i quiet enjoyed it!

Please try to have even a small amout to keep your spirits up!

        You can do it!

There is a skinny girl inside me screaming to get out but the carbs wouldnt let her....I want to know what it feels like not to have to breathe in to look slimmer all the time...I want to breathe out and not look 6mths pregnant..

Welcome to ADBB Denice. You'll find a great support group here along with a ton of knowledge.

Unfortunately veggies are a crucial part of this way of eating/way of living. I know there are many people here on the board who started out not liking veggies & know they do. Look at the list of allowed veggies~~~there must be something that you like. Be adventurous & try something new.

          Good luck on your journey!

Have you tried drenching your microwaved cauliflower in melted butter? Perhaps steamed broccoli smothered in a tasty cheese sauce instead? A side salad coated in blue cheese dressing?

Many people don't care for the vegetables that the low-fat society has pushed on them in their plain, raw form. On Atkins there are so many ways to add fat, and flavor, to these underrated "vitamin supplements" -- they may be worth revisiting!
