  • Hello ALL

My name is Shannie. I am new to the site as well as to the low carb way of life.

Because bread... and french fries and soda are so good...but they are not my friend. I eat them and I gain every time!!

So I just began my journey on Saturday. I am amazed!!
I started at 257, today on Monday I am 252. In January I was on a diet pill which took me from 270 to 249, then once I stopped I was back up to 257...which is better than 270, but hey it's still not where I want to be!!

Right now...I am doing the same thing each day...I have bacon for breakfast, salad or chicken for lunch and eggs or cheese for a snack, and then a protein and a veggie or just a protein for dinner. I need

I need some type of variety or I know I will give up and fail in this. I want to get down to at least 180. Because of my body proportions being and african amercan woman....I dont want to be skinny...just want to be healthy and look good and feel good in my own skin.

So right now I need help from anyone willing to share tips. Also meal ideas where I can incorporate my good essential fats. Also supplements...what should I be taking other than my multivitamin. Also tips on how to get my daily liquids...I hate water!! But I know I need it. Snacks!!! I know I cant have cake, but what are you guys eating.
Excercise...What things I can do that will help me other than walking, running, and what about weights?

Protein shakes....do any of you guys use them...and if so...what can I add in them to make them tast better...

I am an open vessel waiting to be filled with your knowledge...Please help...I really need it!! Because my willpower is shot...and I want to be stronger.

Well I am on my way...on this new journey. I am hopeful that nothing will stand in my way, and I will be successful. This forum really will help me a lot. I am glad I found you all!!

    Re: Hello ALL

    Hi Shanny,
Welcome to ADBB and congratulations on you loss so far. It looks like you are doing well. Make sure you eat your cups of salad veggie and other veggie every day. There are many veggies on the list and they will help you work on your variety.

Look for recipes in the recipe section here or on Linda's low carb site
Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes - Home

Ask some of the questions in the different forums around here. Induction, Exercise, health etc and you will find many people to share their ideas.

BTW weight lifting is a good idea. There is a great thread on weightlifting in the Exercise forum.

Last but not least: Good luck!!!!!!!

        Re: Hello ALL

Great. So what are you trying first?
        Love your ticker.
BTW I see you ask about protein shakes. They are not allowed on induction. The ones with Whey are allowed once you hit the dairy rung and the ones with soy when you are on rung 6.
