  • Hello!

Hi Im new to this web site and currently on day 2 of induction. I live in the UK, and have 2 children, both boys - Nathaniel 4 yr old and Jacob 5 mths old! I am married and work full time, due to return back next week after maternity leave!

I am currently 87kg and wish to drop initially to 80kg, however my willpower is not very good!! I have done atkins before years ago and lost a stone, but put it back on with pregnancy and enjoying eating out!! and not doing much structured exercise.

I have been prescribed orlistate from the doctor and thought of combining this with doing a low fat atkins diet (dont know how long that will last!), if anyone has any info of combining this medication with atkins let me know

Anyhow that is me introduced, i hope you all do well, this website is a good motivation!!!

Oh i am also doing the step challenge, aiming to climb Blackpool Tower (67 flights) by Saturday - completed 27 up to now.

    Re: Hello!

I am not sure that there is such a thing as a low fat Atkins. Fat is the main focus of this diet. But there are other diets out there that aim to cut fat as well as carbs. I don't know anything about your medication. Is the medication the reason you want to do low fat?

I wish you good look on losing your stones (as you say over there) You can do it!
Wonderful news about the step challenge.

      Re: Hello!

My medication bypasses 1/3 fat from whatever i eat, so my thinking was that if i eat low carb diet (Atkins) aswell as low fat (grilling stuff vs frying, lean meat etc) aswell as taking my medication, then my weight would be quicker to lose??

So really my diet being more protein than fat or equally fat to protein.

      Not sure though!

Do you know if kebab meat is allowed? I had donner lamb meat for tea. (it is processed).

      Thanks in advance!

        Re: Hello!

Oh one of those drugs. Loads of side effects there. Are you sure you want to do that? If your object is to lose weight and keep it off, Atkins will do for you risk free. It is up to you - that is just my opinion.
Donner lamb - should be fine, unless it was cured with sugar. Do you know? It may be worth asking before you order next time.

          Re: Hello!

Medication doesnt have too many side effects, only if you eat too much fat, you certainly know about it! ie. wind, running to toilet lol

Im on day 3 now, and hoping that i will do well!

Still got 30 flights to do before tomorrow night!
