I was reading some of the posts last night because I needed a litte motivation. I have been in induction for 3 weeks and still only lost about 10 pounds. Last time I did the atkins diet it came off waaaaay faster. I do fit my clothes better though so I know its working. Anyway. I found the boost I was looking for and decided this would be a good place to get inspiration. I had a baby last October and until 3 weeks ago I was too lazy to do anything about the 75 pounds I gained, but now I am about to get a great new job (fingers crossed). I want to look good so I can feel good and confident. So my goal is to lose it all, 75 pounds. 10 down! 65 to go... No rush as long as it comes off.

It's good to hear you say you're not in a rush, but 10 pounds is actually great for the first 3 weeks! You've lost more than 10% of your goal.

I'd strongly encourage you to consider moving on to the Ongoing Weight Loss (OWL) phase of induction. Even though the book says you can stay on induction if you want to lose more weight faster, many people find they do just as well moving on to OWL. AND, the increased variety of foods you can eat really does make a difference in not getting bored and going off plan...

I know exactly what you mean about wanting to feel confident at work... it really has made such a difference for me.

Best of luck to you in your weight-loss journey -- and good luck on the new job!
