  • New To the Board, 2nd Attempt At Atkins

Hi everyone, my name is Charlie and I am an alcoholic. Oh, wrong support group . I kid =p, I'm 23 years old living in NYC and am attempting to be a NYS Court Officer. When I began the process in 2005 I was 265 pounds, and found out I needed to be 211 pounds or less for my height, 6'1". My mom suggested Atkins and it worked very well for me, I dropped down to about 205 pounds and made the cut in time for the medical exam.

This job has a very long waiting time, but I'm finally at the last steps and just waiting for an invitation to the academy to begin my training and career. I recently found out when they send the academy invites, there is a final full medical with another weigh in. I kind of let myself slip as time went by and when I weighed myself yesterday to begin Atkins again I was 235 pounds.

I kind of ignored my weight as it went up because I remained in good shape, I can run a mile in about 11 minutes...though I need to be able to do that in 10 for the job. So I cleared out my fridge of things I shouldn't be eatting and loaded up on chicken breasts, tuna and a few other Atkins friendly things I enjoy.

I'm not sure what a healthy goal for myself is. I see people set a lot of mini goals here, I was thinking 229 just to see myself under 230 again, then 220, then 211 for the job. After that I'd like 199, since I haven't been under 200 since high school. Past that I'm not sure what a healthy weight is for me, according to a BMI calculator someone 6'1" is a normal weight when they're between 140-180 pounds. I think the upper end of that would be just great for me

I began Atkins again yesterday, I figured the first of the month was a good day to start. I was 235 and when I weighed myself this morning I was about 232.

    Hiiii Charlie.
Great that you are back. You know the drill by now and it sounds like you prepared well.
Running is great. I do it as well - though I am not that fast Have you given any thought to weights? It would help with toning and muscles. It is something else that I do a couple times a week

I wasn't really sure where to ask but my ticker looks different from everyone elses, it has some logo over it and doesn't seem as good. Did I do something wrong making it? When it gives the different codes to put in your signature which are you supposed to use?

Edit: I realized people were using a different website to make theirs. Now it works
