Hello Everyone! :wave
My name is Peter and I joined this board the first day of Induction which was 2-28-05.
I spend most of my time posting on the two week Induction forum but so many of you have contributed to either threads I have started or helped me questions that I thought I should pop my head in here and let you know how much I appreciate the support and encouragement.
I did Atkins a few years ago and lost 40 pounds, drifted about as far away from this WOL as a person possibly can and of course gained back, plus an additional 30 pounds. I had been feeling so unhealthy, so miserable, so alienated and so damn fat that I realized I had chosen to die a slow death - and that's what I was doing, literally dying. No exercise whatsoever, eating all the wrong foods. Carbs, sugar and caffeine had turned me back into a non stop eating machine. That old body shame and low self esteem that's the golden crown of living as I was - is the reason I'm here. I'm determined to live.
To date, it's my 8th day of a clean Induction, I've gained a pound but I couldn't care less, I feel great and am walking a mile a day now using the Walk Away the Pounds program. Might not sound like much, but for me it's really monumental I literally have been turning into jabba the hut! a simple walk around the block had me so winded I thought I was having a coronary.
On a personal note, I live in CT with my partner of 17 years Sean - who supports me in this 100% our dog Tucker and cat Boccie. For a living I do free lance copy writing. I am a full time eBay seller since 1999 and certified eBay education specialist.
Sorry to ramble on - thank you to all of you for taking the time to read this.
Peter
