  • Hey everybody

    Hi,

    New to the forum (obviously) just started the atkins diet two days ago. Im 220 now and want to get down to about 195. I go the gym five times a week and have been unable to get any results other than gaining muscle/strength, even though i do cardio every day, and weight lift every other. I used to have trouble gaining weight, so when i started going to the gym in college i had to go out of my way to gain weight so i could put on muscle. I stopped going to the gym for two years, and just kept gaining weight. Now i want to lose it. Hopefully this works.
    Starting Date= August 2nd 2008
    6 foot 1
    Starting weight=220
    Goal weight=200/195


    Not interested in BMI,
    but when I was in College I looked
    like Captain America at 203lbs (3 yrs ago)
    Now I look like captain crunch at 220
    trying to get back to looking like captain america

    I weight lift and do cardio 5 days a week, and was able to gain muscle but not able to lose any fat. Hoping this diet will help me, as Ive tried low everything diets.

    Welcome geno-
    You will do well if you follow the DANDR book. You don't have much to lose and you are working out which is great.
