  • Introduction

Hi everyone, my name is Susan and just wanted to introduce myself. I have tried everything to lose weight and I heard so many good things about Atkins I finally decided to give it a try. I found the book, which I just finished reading and I recently found this website. I started the induction 5 weeks ago Tuesday. I started at 160 and am now at 149. I can't seem to get below that amount. I have been hesitant to advance into OWL. After reading other posts I think the problem may have been the splenda and 1g of sugar in bacon, hot dogs, etc. also the canned whipped cream? So i have decided to go one more week on induction exactly by the book and see what happens. Any suggestions? Thanks everyone-all of this has been so helpful!!

Hi Susan! Well, canned whipped cream is definitely a problem,,,,there's sugar in there. As for staying on induction....a lot of folks find that moving to rung 1 actauklly gets their loss moving again!

      Hi, Susan

I must agree with Chicklady. Lots of folks experience something called PISS... that stands for Post Induction Stall Syndrome. That's when you stop losing weight, even though you are still eating the same way that you were during Induction. A good number of people (myself included) were able to jump-start our losses again by moving to Rung 1 - more veggies! It worked like a charm for me. Perhaps you should give it a try!
