    I am new to this I started the Atkins diet on Monday 8/4/2008. My birthday is this week so I decided it is time to do something about my weight. I was really happy I lost 2.4 pounds the first day I need to lose 70 more but I just decided I would take it day by day. I am feeling a little week today but I remember reading that can happen the first few days so I will just suffer through it I decided I would wait a few days before I started my workouts again to get pass this weakness.

    Welcome jjcmom76,

    You're at a great place and you'll learn a lot from the veterans here. There's a wealth of information on this site to dig through, and everyone is very happy to help.

    Congrats on starting your Atkins journey. If you stick with it, I'm sure you'll be more than happy with your decision.

    Yes, it's perfectly normal to feel a little weak in the beginning. Just make sure that you are getting your allowed carbs in, and mostly from veggies, and don't skip any meals, even if you're not really hungry. The nice thing about Atkins, and being in ketosis, is that it's a natural appetite suppressant.

    If you're not already taking a good multi-vitamin, I'd suggest taking one.

    Calling it GOAL at this point. I'm happy with where I am now and hope to stay there, or maybe even take it down a little more.

        I was so excited I am on day 3 and I have lost 4.6 pounds so far.
