    Hello, I've been lurking around the forums for a bit, but thought I would introduce myself. I'm a 27 year old male, and I am looking to lose 50+ pounds by next May where I am best man for my brother's wedding. I have tried atkins in the past, and while I had good results, I did not have the will power to stay on the diet living off dorm food in college. I started at 288.6 lbs. I am on day 9 of induction, and have lost 10.2 pounds as of this morning .

    More so than the immediate gratification of the weight loss, I really feel better. My work performance has improved and I do not feel tired in the late afternoon all the time like I had been previously. It was to the point where I would nod off on the phone in the middle of a call if a customer was especially boring.

    I joined the board since I am doing this alone, and feel that some sort of a community, virtual or real, will be a big help for me keeping my focus, and there seems to be a real weath of knowledge on the site.

    The board has been a great help already, just by reading posts, even without me bugging people with questions!!!

    290 lbs. on 11/02/07 Goal: 145 lbs. or size 14 whichever comes first!
