My husband(gbidruglord) and I just started atkins 5 days ago. We are already thrilled with the progress we have made. Although I could do without this wonderful (rolls eyes) taste in my mouth. I think thus far, this has been the worst part of all. We are both in full blown Ketosis...yuck.
I am 24, I was born and raised in New York State, and moved to Georgia because we could afford to live here. We have a beautiful house, 2 crazy dogs(a 45 lbs. mutt and my teeny tiny 3 lbs. chihuahua).
Well my husband and I are trying to loose weight by our second wedding anniversary(11/30/2009) so that we can start trying for our first baby. It is extremely important to me to be healthy while I am pregnant. We got married in Disney world last november(2007) and we are actually going for our anniversary. I recently asked my husband "how are we going to eat the top of our wedding cake?" to which he replied "We'll chew a piece and then spit it out, that should count for something!"
I have been a "fat girl" my whole life, well starting around age 7. I have yo-yo'd with my weight for as long as I can remember, but I have never been "the skinny girl". And this is really something that isn't important to me. My whole purpose for starting atkins is to be healthier, not "prettier". I am already a beautiful person no matter what size I am. My husband loves me and my body, and I truly love him for being as wonderful as he is. We have been together almost 7 years, and he has never judged me or told me that I needed to loose weight. He has been my rock of support, and we are on this journey together.
Well, I have written a novel now, so I must be going. But I think you all have an excellent sense of who I am. Thanks!
