  • Hi! Day One of (re)Induction

    Hi everyone!

I've been reading this bb for a while, and finally decided to join up and go legit.

Most people don't know what Atkins is, or have severe misconceptions of what they think it is, so it's hard to get them to understand why I can't eat just one slice of bread or cake or why I can't eat that single banana, never mind why I'll be eating this way for the rest of my life!

Needless to say, I'm here with people who do understand....and this post is mostly to thank all you great people on this board for sharing your experiences, setbacks, encouragement, and successes.

About me: Female, tried all the low-fat/low-cal/weird food/2 hours of cardio a day stuff for YEARS and it never worked since I was always starving and always unhappy about it.

I've been eating LC unofficially since July, with cheat foods slipped in and the piper taking his due for it, but I'm down 2% bodyfat from eating as much meat and fat as I want--and I'm already a much happier person to be around.

Just re-started Induction for the third time, as I goofed up twice in the past three weeks and now I am committed to seeing the two weeks through cleanly, mostly to see if I get any humongous fat loss.

I'm a mesomorph and lift weights, so I don't really care what I weigh, since my weight always surprises people (muscle takes up less space than fat!) It's been rough, lifting weights with lower muscle glycogen, but I'm adapting.

I'm at about 30-32% bodyfat and would like to go to 18%, maybe 15% bodyfat, and see how it looks on me.

    See you around!

OK so I had to look up mesomorph. Had not hear that one before. Interesting.
What kind of lifting are you into?

Hi Lifter If you do a cheat free induction, you will probably find a great increase in your energy....it's a side-effect. Good luck on your Atkins journey.

Hi and thanks for the welcome!

Liv - The term is general, and not super scientific. I used it as shorthand for "muscled but (currently) covered with fat". I squat, deadlift, and press. I don't do much on the machines any more. Do you lift, too?

Chicklady - Awesome! I'll be looking forward to more energy. Thanks, and good luck on yours, too.

Don't worry I don't mind learning new words.
I lift too but I would not really call myself a lifter. Started a bit into this Atkins lifestyle. I do dumbbells and squats. I do not do presses but I think I would like to go there one day.
