  • Maybe This Time

Hi, I am FMulder. I did Atkins very successfully about 5 years ago but gradually got off it and basically destroyed all the good I did. At the time I was very happy with the losses but started feeling a bit constricted and bored by the so-called food limitations. Upon further reflection and numerous other attempts I realize that there are other ways to "spice" up food choices via Atkins in order to be in , and keep, the weight I want.

So, I am officially a 2-timer due to finish the Induction period on Monday. I got off to a great start (-6) but seem to have steadied off the last few days despite being in moderate Ketosis. I am hoping this is temporary because I could use a mental and physical boost.

I am not cheating and doing everything right as far as I can tell. Hopefully it is just my body re-adjusting and the need just to be patient.

    Peace,

    FM

Break out the tape measure! Many times you will see the losses there when you don't see them on the scale

It's very typical to lose lbs the first few days and then level off before starting to drop again. The first few days this WOE will act as a pretty strong diuretic, meaning a lot of water loss. Your body will adapt, and even though you are shedding fat, the water in your body will even back out, making it seem like you're not losing. As the others have said, if you're worried about that, try doing some measurements to check it out. But, I'm sure that if you stick with it, the lbs will start dropping again soon too.

Welcome back to a great WOE!

Original goal: Lose 30 lbs by Mar. 1st, 2006. I made it!!!

Calling it GOAL at this point. I'm happy with where I am now and hope to stay there, or maybe even take it down a little more.
