  • I'm a newbie

Hi Everyone... I'm new to this whole Atkins thing. I was on prednisone last winter and gained 40lbs in 6 months. I'm desperate to get this uncomfortable weight off! I've been doing this for 4 weeks now and while I have no problems sticking to it I've only lost 4lbs and I don't feel this surge of energy that everybody else seems to get. I have been off the prednisone for 6 months now... Is it possible that it's still in my system?? Or could it be the other medications I take?? Any advise/help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks all!!!!!

Hi Duci First thing that would help is if you posted what you've been eating so we can see what might be affecting your loss. yes, certain medications can affect your loss. You might try the "health" forum to see if anyone else taking the same meds you are can share their experience.

290 lbs. on 11/02/07 Goal: 145 lbs. or size 14 whichever comes first!

      Re: I'm a newbie

Thanks for your help. I'm still trying to figure out my way around this website - he he he.

I'm not a big fan of meat but I find that if I eat the ground up versions - ground beef, ground turkey, ground chicken etc... it's not so bad.

Typically, I have two eggs for breakfast, I can't seem to find any bacon that is not cured with sugar so no bacon.

Lunch is usually a 1/2 cup ground meat that I cook with ro-tel and eat over a cup of lettuce & 1/2 a cucumber.

Dinner is usually a small portion of steak or more ground meat with a green salad. The only dressing I use is olive oil & vinegar.

I get migrains so I take wellbutrin, maxalt & imetrex. I also have asthma so I take Qvar & albutirol. Birth control too - depo shot - I've never had any problems with the Depo shot - was able to lose 20lbs two years ago on Jenny Craig - just hated the diet and couldn't stick to it.

I will check the other forums for medical blocks.

      Thanks again!!

Did I mention that you're doing fabulous!!
