Hmmm... Im not terribly good at introductions, but here goes.

Im a 21 year old male living in Finland, just moved here from so-cal, who could do with losing a few inches off my waist line.
I wouldn't describe myself as terribly overweight (6ft3 225lbs, BMI 28?),and I am reasonably fit but I have some rather persistant love handles which piss me off no end as I am quite body conscious
I have never tried a diet before but when I heard about atkins it sounded perfect for me as I tend to eat a very high protein diet anyway (lots of eggs, meat, and soy) so I figured cutting out the carbs shouldnt be that difficult. But we will see.
Sorry I dont know wether that is sufficient info but I have run out of things to write.
    easy now

Tomi, at your height and current weight, I'm not sure I'd go with Atkins. I say this, because it really isn't a diet so much as it is a way of eating. From my experience, you tend to gain back (plus more) what you lose if you treat it as a temporary quick-fix.

Will you lose the weight you're looking to rid yourself of in a clean induction? I'd undoubtedly say yes, but you have to be careful to exit induction properly.

    Good luck

      Re: Obligatory Introduction

Hey if this works I have no objection to a new WOE, my only vices I wont quit are cigarretes and coffee (black), so if it works in the induction phase I am more than happy to stick too it. thanks for the advice though

The smokes won't be a problem, but if I remember correctly, coffee is. You may want to check, because I'm really rusty, but I think it inhibits weight loss (the caffeine).

          Re: Obligatory Introduction

from what I understand (I could be wrong) it is mainly the associated sugar/sweeteners that are the issue. I lost 10lbs over the last couple of years just by cutting out all the sugar/creamer from my coffee. But we will have to see what happens.
