Hi, guys! I'm new to the board and new to Atkins. I just began induction on August 10th, and I'm down 11 lbs!
I LOVE this diet!!
The first 3 days were the worst, but the headaches, dizziness, and cravings are waaaay down now. I'm feeling very encouraged because I've yo-yo dieted most of my adult life -- knowing in the midst of every one of them, they weren't food-styles I could keep up permanently. I didn't really think Atkins would be either, but I'm finding that as the cravings subside, I think it IS something I could do as a permanent lifestyle change!
My only issue right now is with exercise. I had a bad leg/ankle break accompanied by some torn ligaments a while back. Between the cast & "boot," I was in something for 6 months. And while it has healed, I still have alot of weakness & tenderness in that ankle that makes walking long distances an absolute killer! I'm currently riding my stationary bike with no resistance. I started with 30 minutes, and I'm trying to get to 45. I know that's probably not enough, but it's all I think I can do for now.
Anyway, this forum is great and I'm looking forward to both giving and receiving tips & encouragement thru the journey.
