I did an incorrect version of Atkins 9 years ago and dropped 30 lbs over the course of about a month.
However, I was 18 then, didn't read the book, I just heard that I could eat meat, cheese, and eggs and lose a ton of weight, so I did it.
Well, since then I've gained back all that I lost then plus about 70 lbs.
Some of that weight gain is muscle mass, as I used to weight lift quite a bit in college, but I still could stand to lose 70 lbs.
I am 27 years old, currently 5'11 and weight in at 275.2 lbs, as of yesterday morning. When I started on Monday I weighed in at 281.4 lbs. The largest I ever got was 286 lbs and that was two years ago.
So, I am glad to be here. I feel pretty good. I got a little nausea yesterday morning and I am giving up the caffeine today.
My real catalyst for doing this, is not only myself, but my baby girl was born Tuesday, 8/12/08 and I saw the pictures of me holding her and I was so embarrassed and then I thought that I may end up having a heart attack at age 45 like my father did if I don't do something.
So this time, I have been doing Atkins induction the right way. I have been sticking to non-friend sources of protein, such as grilled chicken, beef, or fish and I have been trying to eat atleast two salads a day without the dressing.
