I am a 25 yr old mother of 2 beautiful girls, ages 2 and 5. This is my second serious time around with the atkins diet. My first experience with this diet was great. I have been heavy since i was about 5 yrs old. Soon after turning 17 a family member recommended that i try this diet. On Feb. 19, 1999 I started weighing in at around 215. By the end of august i weighed about 135. I was always very active walking/rollerblading/biking so i am guessing that is why it came off so fast. This time around is going alot slower but atleast its going.
I have a few different reasons for starting atkins again.
1. I want to get active like i used to be so i can set a good example for my lil princesses.
2. My fiance became the lead singer of a local band and i want people to be jealous that he's with me instead of saying "why's he with her? he could do better"
3. I had 4 ppl in one week ask me when i'm due, but i'm not pregnant.
4. I want to feel like myself again.
I couldn't imagine going through this diet without a support system so I am so happy i found ADBB. I was 2 weeks into the diet and about to give up because i had started gaining weight instead of losing it. Turns out i was going alittle nuts with the splenda. I have the 1992 edition of the diet and it only mentions limiting aspartame so i thought splenda was free game
. Well i cut down on the splenda and powerade zeros and i have started losing again.
I hope to get know all of you and join some challenges.
Have a Great Day!

welcome aboard! This is my third (and final!!) time on Atkins. The key for most all of us is that we must accept that this is for life....or the weight will come back! Best luck your 2nd (and final!!) time around
