    Hi, Kendra.
Don't forget to check out the Second Time Around forum....

And what was so hard for you on Atkins the other times? Are you able to pinpoint it?

    Wishing you well,

Re: New To The Website!, Starting Again

I get mad with the diet because I start to crave for sweets, carbs and so on. The longest i've stuck with atkins was 5 weeks and lost 19lbs. I thought that would motivate me even more but i went back to my old habits a day later. I guess i just need the motivation.

          Hi Kendra and welcome!
What about exercise? Has that been part of your program?
We have some exercise challenges - if you join a couple and do routine exercise it can help to give you the endurance and confidence to keep going. Just a question/thought.

            Kendra:
I totally relate to the sweet cravings thing. Other members here have shared recipes that are helping me through induction. (Or maybe I found it on the web. Either way, I'm grateful to the person posting it!)

Here's one for you... (think pumpkin pie... yum!)

I find this to be a quick little treat, low carb, and induction friendly.

            Mix the following together:

1/2 Cup Libby's Pure Pumpkin (NOT pie filling which has sugar)
            1 Tablespoon butter
            1 Tablespoon heavy whipping cream
            1/4 Teaspoon pumpkin spice
            1 Packet of Splenda

Heat in the microwave for 15 seconds. Stir. Heat another 15 seconds. Yummy. (Note - heating times may vary slightly depending on microwave)

I put the extra pumpkin from the can in a bowl in the fridge for my next use.

Kendra: I couldn't find pumpkin spice in the store so I just use sprinkles of nutmeg and cinnamon.

            It's total comfort food.

            Keep going! You'll be glad!

Sweets cravings -argh!!! gets alot of people but try to curb your cravings down by eating carb free sweet stuff-check out the desserts section here- lots of options to try or what i do is eat sugar free jello-its 0 carbs 0 everything and I always keep it on hand for a quick craving and I make it alot...I use whipped cream cheese with splenda and top the jello for a super quick treat...and its never hurt my induction or I also drink diet cream root beer, 0 everything- it is so sweet and I like to freeze it to make it slushy and add 2 tbsp of heavy cream and it tastes just like a float... fight thru the cravings and try the low carb desserts, after awhile you wont miss them- you can do it...
