  • Hello Everyone

Hey Everyone, Today is my second day of induction. I am a 24yr old female finishing post graduate school and my goal is to loose 30lbs before my 25th birthday in February 09. I was on a low carb type diet for the last week, which entailed fruits, veggies and meat. It was like a cleanse, but now I am strictly atkins. I did atkins before and it worked great, but with college, I gained the weight back and then some. Does anyone get the withdrawl affects of feeling like you have a lump in your throat?? Anyhoo I am glad to be here, I love forums, it was the best thing created because you can meet so many people and learn so many things. Can anyone who has done induction at least a month advise how much they lost in the first month?? Hearing how much other people lost keeps me motivated to know that I can achieve similar goals if I stay focused. Once again, thanks to all and hopefully you can learn something from me to...

    Re: Hello Everyone

Hi, Dimples (do we call you Dimples?) and welcome! I did Induction for a month and lost 12 pounds, and was never hungry, either. Maybe the "lump in the throat" is part of the "Induction Flu" that some people feel, while the body is adjusting? Dunno ... have no experience with that. Anyone? Check in frequently and join in the challenges, though ... it helps A LOT!

      Re: Hello Everyone

I've experienced the lump in the throat feeling everytime I've tried Atkins and was part of the reason that I've never completed induction. This time I've decided to stick with it in spite of the lump. I'm on my 4th day of induction and it appears to be fading away a bit. I think I might have been eating too much meat. I eat more vegetables this time because meat takes a while to digest and the lump isn't as bad.

I have been on Induction from 8/1 until yesterday - so about a month and lost almost 10 lbs...9 and some change. But I lost so many inches...over 17...so be sure to take your measurements. I experienced that lump in my throat at the very beginning but it faded in the first week.
