  • Trying again but committing this time!

I actually joined the board a few weeks ago, but I guess I wasn't ready to commit to Atkins. In those last few weeks, I've tried low fat, points and just plain not eating. Guess what? I haven't lost a pound. There are so many success stories here that I am convinced there must be something to this!

It used to be for vanity reasons only that I wanted to lose weight. And it still is my second reason for doing this, but my health is even more important. I guess the older we get, the more we get concerned about it, right?

Anyway, I'm a little worried about failing on another diet, but I'm ready to commit 100% to this. I started yesterday and it's probably my imagination, but I already feel better.

my best advise would be to thoroughly read the book (if you haven't already) it is a good read and really explains everything. another thing, take it day by day. two weeks on induction can seem like an eternity, but with planning you can do it.
for example, i have eggs for breakfast everyday. boring, yes, but i don't have to think about it and my day is started. have a look at lindas low carb web site. she is excellent- many people use her recipes from here and she also has loads of links to keep you going.
i am down two weeks, 7lbs and i am going another two weeks- then after that we will see.
i also keep a diary of food intake and exercise-this is a great help-makes it seem real.
anyway, good luck, we are all here to learn and help

Thank you and thanks so much for the advice. I've bought the book and am ready to go on this! I will definitely be using the recipes on Linda's site too, they look amazing.

Good luck on your journey. I honestly don't believe there is anything else that works quite like this WOE. I can't say I'd want to be at my heaviest again AT ALL but I do miss the way it feels in the beginning.
