    Hello Everyone. My name is Lucy, and this is my 3rd (almost 4th) day on Atkins. I look forward to teaming up with you all and encouraging one another in getting healthy! I've got about 100-105 pounds to lose. The past 3 days have been honestly great and have not had a problem so far with cravings...I honestly thought I would (I'm an assistant photographer with a gigantic love for CAKE! ....and, well, food in general. And what better place to eat it than at a wedding?) and it's truly been by the grace and goodness of God that I have been able to hold on for 3 whole days! So...with that said....There is VICTORY for you all and for me and I can't wait to get to know you all better.

    Welcome Lucy. Lots of support here. There is a centennial club for those with 100 lb or more to lose. You may want to check that out.

      Welcome!
      Glad you are doing well on Induction. Once you get more into veggies, salads, chicken, fish, meat, etc. you will not look or sniff twice at cake. Exercise helps a lot, too.

          Welcome!
          Glad you found this board. I have foudn it an invaluable resource for advice and support. I've found that the easiest way to overcome a sugar craving is with a high fat snack, like pork rinds. One thing I've learned, try to drink half your body weight in ounces of water each day. It makes a world of difference.

            Thank you, Frankenspine! I agree with you about this board. I have found lot's of encouragement these past couple of days.

            I'm not a big water drinker (something I know I need to get over), but I will certainly try to drink all the water I can. I know if flushes out your body and keeps you full longer too. Thanks so much for the great advice!

              There is a water challenge you can join....I was under watering and now I am getting up there.

                Welcome! It does get easier over time. Make sure you eat. Being hungry makes it hard to stay on plan. That's one of the things I love about this WOE. I can feel satisfied, even full, and not feel guilty. I try to carry a snack with me at all times so I don't get tempted by other stuff.

                  Thanks guys for the advise, I could sure use it!!

                  So far..my appetite has been suppressed. I only fit in 8.7 carbs today. Hopefully the "icky feeling" will go away soon and I can eat a little more. I also forced myself to drink a little more water today. I'll definitely go check out that water challenge gman.

                  Zoe, I agree with you whole heatedly! I'll make sure my tummy gets filled when I'm hungry. Thanks so much for the helpful advise!

                        Focus, trust me... before I started I was dreading it...I'm one that usually has a hard time with any form of dieting myself! But looking forward and seeing what I'll be gaining from all this (hehee..not fat..but health and confidence) it just does something to your system! It gets you excited. I've got 100lbs to lose, but in just losing the 11 I have has made a huge difference. So hang in there!!!!

                        DLS, you are doing great on your weight loss! I just looked at your stats and you're doing wonderful! Thanks for the welcome!
