    I guess I should call myself a newbie, although I joined this forum a few years ago, but never got around to posting.

    I am 5'4, and currently weigh 211 pounds. How I wish I could at least get under 200!

    My main problem is my asthma meds. They just make me so hungry! I mostly stay pretty low carb, but even when I am eating fewer than 20 carbs a day, I tend to eat far too many calories.

      Make sure you are eating enough fat. Fat is what makes you feel full. And feeling full is what will keep you on track.

      First mini-goal: 180 lbs. met 8/9/2008
      Second mini-goal: 170 lbs. met 11/8/2008
      Third mini goal: 160 lbs. (which was my postpartum weight with my second baby)
      Fourth mini goal: 150 lbs.
      Ultimate goal: 140 lbs

        As you can see from my siggie, our beginning stats are somewhat similar. Please know that you can do this! It's taken me more than one time to get it right, but I've finally discovered the secret to success - this time, I followed the book to the letter. While the first week is HARD, it is truly amazing how much easier it gets once you follow the plan exactly as it was intended. Who'd have thought?

        So, re-acquaint yourself with the do's and don'ts of Atkins. Re-read the book (I do that often, for motivation and inspiration). Also, here is a link to a "sticky" that I've placed at the top of this forum.
