Begins by stepping AWAY FROM THE COOKIES!!!!
Hi all, I'm Sarah, I just turned 30 and I'm turning to Atkins as a last attempt before succumbing to GBP surgery. I really don't want to have a franken-tummy so I'm going to give this a shot. I'm waiting on my books to come in the mail (Amazon) and then I'm going to start so I guess you could say I'm on pre-induction. I have a basic knowledge of the basics, but I want to do this "by the book" so I can get the best results. For me support is key so I've signed on to the board, scoped out some recipes and am mentally "gearing up" for my new WOL. I'm a total sugar junkie, so this is as close to "cold turkey" (no puns intended) as I can get. In my opinion, that's what makes food such a hard addiction to kick, you can't just walk away. Hopefully this will break the "sugar binge" problem I have and then I'll be on my way to a new me. I have about 200 lbs to lose so it'll be a journey, but I'm ready to give obesity a swift kick in the arse! I've been overweight all my life and Super-morbidly obese (sounds like I should be equipped with a cape and a side-kick!) for about the last 5 years or so. I have a little girl who just turned 1 and at my highest weight, I was 372 when I delivered her. On my 5'5" frame, you can imagine... So I'm finally ready to do something about it! I'm going to stock my fridge this weekend and begin on Monday. My husband is wonderfully supportive and is willing to make whatever sacrifices are necessary to get me healthy. He's a beanpole! 6'4" and 194 lbs! Luckily the baby appears to be built like his family and not mine!
Anyway, any advice you can give to help with the beginnings and help with my "stick-to-it-iveness" would be greatly appreciated! I look forward to getting to know everyone. Hope everyone has a lovely day and a great weekend!!
