    Hello from Italy

A greeting from Milano, Italy! My name is Dagmar and I have started Induction 4 days ago, with a few errors on the first two days due to ignorance on my side.. I thought I knew it all about carbs, but ..NOT. And now that I have found this great forum, I am sure I will find all the information I need!
I am 44 years old, 5'5 tall and have started at 176 pounds. My "final" goal is 145 pounds, but for the moment being I will be happy to get my bmi under 25, which should happen at roughly 160 pounds, more or less halfway through, and I hope to arrive at that until the end of 2008.
I have tried out a lot of diets over the last years, but alas, it seems that I simply can't shake those sweet cravings and everything failed sooner or later. So a "drastic change" is called for, and I'll do my best to stick to my goals, even if due to my work I have to travel and eat out a lot.
    Success to all of us

      Re: Hello from Italy

Thank you very much! I am still trying to get used to all the new things.. and angsting about doing something wrong (I can't find the "Diet Revoulution" here in Italy, I am trying to see if I can order it somewhere). For now, one step at a time, and all the suggestions given here are certainly helpful!
      Thank you again

        Wow, carbless in Italy!

Welcome to the site. I have read the book and found so much good information here. I can safely say that until you get the book you can find everything you need to get started right in the Forums section;Induction.

I am curious to hear it Italy has great sugar free marinara sauce and Ketchup

Well the ketchup we have is Hienz Ketchup and they make a special blend that has 1 gram of carbs per serving. I have made my own with a sugar free marinara sauce that turned out great. Unfortunetly I didnt write down what I used. I know I used the marinara, vinegar, splenda, garlic and salt.

Hello and welcome. I would suggest trying Amazon.com for a copy of Dr. Atkins book.

                    Good luck!!!
