  • Full of Enthusiasm

Hi! I'm a 41 year old mom with 2 teenage kiddos. After a not-so great 17 year marriage, I got a job, a divorce and started making my life what I wanted it to be. I reconnected and began dating a high school sweetheart and I am happy to say we have been married for the last 11 months. All of that upheaval and new found happiness played havoc on my weight. Over the past 3 years, I have gained 30 lbs. Uck! Although I am told daily that I am beautiful by my sweet hubby, I kind of know better. Sure the insides are great but my body could use some work!
I have prepared the kitchen, the family, and my mind for this Atkins way of life. I have tried to lose weight over the last year and it seems that carbs are what is standing between me and my fitness goals.
I've never been part of a forum like this but I am hoping to be inspired and maybe even help somebody else along the way.
On your mark, get set, GO!

Hi! I am just a couple of years older and on marriage no. 2 as well. Happiness and lots of buffet dinners with new hubby did me in! He is a total skinny, and it was like one long date....

It is a totally different way of eating from any diet you might have tried before, but it works and you will feel fabulous after the first few days. There is a transition period between days 2-5 where you might feel a bit 'ew' because you are changing your metabolism. (It generally doesn't last 3 days, but starts and ends for folks on different days. I am usually fine by day 3.. yes I have done it more than once! LOL!) But the book describes all that and by your enthusiasm and preparation, I feel SURE you have read the book!

We're glad you're here and here for ya!
